Chrysanthemums encompass a wide variety of hybrids and flower types. Most are upright or mounded in form and of medium texture. Flowers can be daisy like, cushion, button, pom-pom or spider. COREOPSIS Auriculata "Nana"

Also known as "Mouse Ear Coreopsis". This old fashioned perennial blooms for 6 weeks or more in early summer. Remove spent blooms to prolong blooming. Coreopsis takes heat and drought with minimal amounts of water. Lovely dwarf variety of 1-2" yellowish-orange flowers. One of the best low maintanance plants, they are tolerant of poor soil and make wonderful cut flowers.

COREOPSIS Verticillata "Moonbeam"

Also known as "Thread Leaf Coreopsis" is a tough, easy care perennial. The lacy foliage provide an airy, fine texture in the perennial bed with bright star-shaped flowers. Blooms from early summer until frost. Tolerates drought. Excellent choice for a border plant blooming throughout the summer. Combines well with foliage plants such as Heuchera & Penestenom. Great for a cut flowers, attracts butterflies and hummingbirds.

DIANTHUS Deltoides "Zing Rose":

This low spreading perennial has dense, deep green foliage. It is a free flowering perennial that is excelllent in moderately moist locations. Plant will spread fast and produce an abundance of flowers. Deadhead plant to keep in bloom. Use in rock gardens and as a low ground covering perennial in plantings.

ECHINACEA Purpurea "Magnus":

Also known as, Purple cone flower is extremely heat and drought tolerant. This free flowering species has distinctive rose coore blooms and is an excellent garden performer. The roots are said to have medicinal properties. Looks great when planted with Maryland's state flower - Black Eyed Susan, daylilies or coreopsis. This selection is a 1998 perennial of the year. Attracts butterflies. Good as as cut flower.
